PCT 63rd General Assembly was launched today at Chang-Jung Girls’ High School.

Grace and peace to you.

Presbyterian Church 63rd General Assembly was launched today at Chang-Jung Girls’ High School. Thirty-three ecumenical partners came to share in fellowship.

During Opening Communion Service, the guests and the PCT delegates together declared PCT Confession of Faith using 15 languages this included 10 indigenous languages. It was to show that we are bound together and we bear witness for God.

We recognized retiring missionaries Mrs. Charlene B. Alexander and Rev. David B. Alexander, who were appointed as missionaries of the Reformed Church in America in 1982. After studying Taiwanese language for two years, they began their ministry with PCT. May we follow their faithful example. God bless them as they plan to retire in July, 2018 after 36 years in Taiwan.

We are honored to invite Elder Stephen S.S.Lee to address the topic Distinctions between Sovereignty, Human Rights, Canon and Laws for Christians and Non-Christians. A lawyer by profession, he is one of the founders of Taiwan Association for Human Rights and has dedicated to “establish and improve human rights”, and “to strengthen human rights standards and protection mechanisms”.

In his speech, he clearly pointed out the different definitions of sovereignty, human rights and laws for Christians and Non-Christians. We as God’s people shall discern “the laws of God and the worldly laws”. With the laws of God, we shall cultivate faith, spread the gospel and love and care about society.
