Concerning the church ministry Rev. Li highlighted their mission focus is both contextual and to serve people. Furthermore, Khau-Pi Presbyterian Church like many rural congregations faces many challenges such as aging population, urban migration, poverty, education, ethnic identity and land ownership. In order to address these problems, the church helped establish five organizations which are: Siraya Cooperative Association, Siraya Culture Association, Khau-Pi Community Service Center, Sunshine True Love Youth Association and Yi-zen Credit Union.
After visiting Khau-Pi Presbyterian Church, the guests were taken to Green Valley to meet Elder Talavan who is pledged to the revitalization of Sirayan culture. In addition to introducing various ethnic and creative musical instruments Elder Talavan explained the issue of claiming Indigenous status to our ecumenical partners. Furthermore he pointed out that human beings are made in the image of God and his personal desire is to uphold the original image of Siraya Tribe with dignity. “May God have mercy on us, and bless us,” said Elder Talavan.
