Taiwan Citizen Groups Demonstrate Against The Undemocratic Ma-Xi Meeting

Reported by Chiu Kuo-rong and Lin Yi-ying

Against Ma-Xi meeting at Singapore, many citizen groups take to the Taipei streets to demonstrate their everstrongest protest to Ma Ying-jeou administration on November 7. Taiwan President, Ma Ying-jeou, is condemned as operating a black-box bargain with China's President Xi Jinping to hold this meeting without any advise or negotiation with the congress in advance.

On November 6, the day before the Ma-Xi meeting, a group of PCT officials, including Rev. Sud Tada(PCT General Assembly Vice Moderator), Rev. Chen Ming-chih(PCT GA Secretary), Rev. Hsueh Bor-zhan(PCT GA Deputy Secretary), Rev. Lyim Hong-tiong(PCT General Secretary), Elder Tsai Yu-ming(PCT GA Accountant), together with some representatives from Taiwan Nation Alliance, Taiwan Envioronmental Protection Union and etc., releases an official statement on Ma-Xi meeting on Ketagaland Boulevard before Taiwan's Presidential Office Building.

Within the PCT statement, Rev. Sud Tada delivers three proposals: 1) The future of Taiwan should be decided byall Taiwanese people. 2) The independent sovereignty and peaceful status quo of Eastern Asian countries are not allowed to be damaged. 3) We do not agree Ma Ying-jeou to proceed any secret bargain with China under no democratic procedures.

Taiwan Association of University Professors(TAUP) also remarks that all Taiwanese people will not recognize any agreement reached by Ma-Xi meeting, because there is a political premise of "one China" framework and such conference is operated underway without any democratic authorization from Taiwan society. Though KMT chairman and presidential candidate, Eric Chu and his flocks, give their cheers to this meeting, the Taiwanese will eventually make up their correct choice making the unification-inclined KMT died down on this island, says TAUP.

Pledging to defend the democracy of Taiwan, many overseas Taiwan student groups, studying in Japan, US, Canada and Australia, sign up the statement condemning the black-box bargain of Ma Ying-jeou administration. These student groups point out that, being a president with extremely low support and only six months occupancy, Ma Ying-jeou is not fit to make any important decision for all Taiwanese people!

Mr. Hwang Kun-huei, chairman of Taiwan Solidarity Union(TSU), criticizes Ma's open recognition of "1992consensus" as being subsumed under "one China principle" without daring to mention "agree to disagree (the existence of a different interpretation of what 'one China' means)" is obviously an appalling treason. Asking the Special Investigation Division to take up this case, TSU will seriously inquire the political and legal responsibility of Ma Ying-jeou's betrayal of this country.

At the end of the 2015 National Prayer Breakfast in Taiwan, held on November 7, though many church leaders fromother denominations give their high affirmation to Ma-Xi meeting in front of Vice President Wu Don-yih, Rev. Zeng Ying-er, PCT Associate General Secretary, delivers his prophetic prayer to plea God take charge of Ma Ying-jeou, discipline him not to do anything harmful to the safety of all Taiwanese people and the democracy of Taiwan!
