PCT Youth Front Urges PCT General Assembly To Scrape Anti-LGBT Resolution

On April 5th, an insignificant post, read "No Discrimination of Homosexual orHeterosexual! Scrape Anti-LGBT Pastoral Letter!", silently appeared at the top-right corner above the center stage during the thanksgiving service of the 150th anniversary of PCT mission at Taoyuan Sports University Gymnasium. Many PCT members apparently noticed this and took pictures by themselves in a curiosity. This poster, posted by PCT Youth Front, was intended to send a strong message to PCT members that a discriminated resolution was rudely passed by an extempore motion in annual meeting of General Assembly held in April 2014.

In fact, many PCT Youth Front members had expressed their anger and protestagainst this anti-LGBT resolution with 600 petitioned signatures before PCT General Assembly Office on May 20th 2014. As they were given no explanation but an official reply, meaning it's no use to cry over the spilled milk, many PCT Youth Front members decided to raise a banner, read "Faith Is Dead", protesting PCT's stance of LGBT issue before PCT GA Office.

The reason, why PCT Youth Front expressed their protest at the jubilant 150thanniversary of PCT Mission in Taiwan, was that they believed this rude and discriminated resolution needs more people to understand and concern. So, not only above the center stage appeared their protesting post, but also at the entrance gates, corridors and toilet rooms of the gymnasium their slogans could be seen around. Even, after the service of the Eucharist, some youth raised the post demonstrating among the audience.

"In the long run PCT always positions herself as the guardian of themarginalized and social bottom, why LGBT people can not be fairly treated as the oppressed victims?", asked PCT Youth Front, "Ought not PCT try to understand and care LGBT people based on their most treasured biblical verses in Micah 6:8: to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?"
