Celebrating 40th Anniversary Of CWM, Rev Ramulondi BringsTo Taiwan Messages Of Healing, Hope And Renewal

Reported by Simon Lin

To celebrate the 40th anniversary of Council for World Mission(CWM) world-wide among her 32 member churches, Rev Mukondeleli Ramulondi, director of CWM and pastor of Uniting Presbyterian Church in Southern Africa, came to Taiwan and delivered a sermon at Tek-tung Presbyterian Church on July 16.

At the beginning of his sermon, entitled as “Healing the wounded body with hope and renewal”, Rev Ramulondi passes the warmest greetings from CWM’s Moderator and General Secretary to the churches of Taiwan.

And then, in his preaching, Rev Ramulondi mentions the incessant global conflicts between politics and money, the deteriorating inequality between the rich and the poor, and the continuous deadly warfare among countries as the three most daunting task that contemporary churches have to engage, if Christians are to bring the healing and hope to those deeply inflicted and help them march toward a renewal life.

After the sermon, Rev Chunag Hsiao-seng exchanges gifts with Rev Ramulondi and expresses PCT’s appreciation for CWM’s special and historical patronages granted to Taiwan church, especially PCT. Because the PCT’s founding missionaries, Rev Thomas Barclay, Rev Hugh Ritchie, and many others, were sent into Taiwan in the latter half of nineteenth century by London Mission Society which was one the major former organizations of current CWM.
