The Celebration in Taipei marking the 150th year of Mission in Taiwan was not only beautiful and memorable, it was inspirational as well. We were highly honored to be invited and feted by the General Assembly. We are delighted that we could observe the outstanding nominee for President of Taiwan address the GA in full session and hear her testimony to the great help the church has been in the advocacy of human rights and justice in Taiwan’s society. We honor your efforts to be defenders of justice and equality in the struggle for a vibrant democracy that stresses the dignity of all human life and God’s will that all mankind might live peacefully and prosperously together. At this Advent Season of the year 2015, we greet you in the name of our Lord, the Prince of Peace. We pray for your continued stalwart witness to His will and way in all things pertaining to Taiwan and her future. May His shalom ever dwell in your hearts and minds as you proclaim God’s word to the people of your great nation. The freedom and sovereignty of Taiwan is a constant prayer concern of ours, and we wish you Godspeed in your faithful witness to God’s eternal will. Merry Christmas to you, to all the officers and staff in the GA Offices, and to the faithful congregations throughout the nation. Your love has made us feel complete and joyous.
