Taiwan’s National Prayer Meeting Blesses President Tsai Ing-wen A United Country

Reported by Lin Yi-yin

“All disgruntle stops before me, and I will take up the pains of all kinds of reform. This is the responsibility what the President should take!”, remarked by President Tsai Ing-wen at the 17th National Prayer Breakfast Meeting on September 30.

She also sincerely believed, when appropriate time comes just like the poet described as “steadfast love and faithfulness will meet; righteousness and peace will kiss each other”, a united country will defintely be built up and every thing good could be happened accordingly.

Using fluent and eloquent Taiwanese to give a sermon, entitled as “Save our country from falling into wreckage”, Rev Chen Ming-che, Moderator of the 62 round of PCT General Assembly, encouraged the audience to stick to the teachings of Jesus about the value of solidarity.

Cting the scripture, Matthew 12: 22 ~ 26, a story about the Pharisees’ questioning about Jesus’ capability to cast out the demons, Rev Chen reiterated Jesus’ teaching about the secret of leadership:”Every kingdom divided against itself is laid waste, and no city or house divided against itself will stand!”

Either in singing the praise or listening to the sermon, President Tsai all expressed her deep engagement via singing and nodding in the service. Especially when many pastors surrounded President Tsai to bless her, she also raised up her hand praying to God for a united Taiwan!
