Starting From Nothing, Nan-pao Church Celebrates Her One-Year-Old Birthday With First Fruit

Reported by Chen Yi-hsuan

With a purpose to celebrate PCT150 and proclaim God's good news, Tainan Presbytery of PCT planted the Nan-pao Church at Guiren district of Tainan City on 31st July 2015. One year later, a thanks-giving service was held on 31st July 2016 to mark the first birthday of this new-born church.

Planting Nan-pao church was a joint-ministry uniting five local churches of Tainan Presbytery: Thai-peng-kengMaxwell Memorial Church, Khwan-sai-kueh Church, Guiren Church, Sin-phon Church and Hou-jia Church.

Evangelist Chen Pei-wen, pastor of Nan-pao Church, appreciated God's amazing grace before the assembly. Whenshe was assigned to plant this church, said Chen, there was absolutely nothing except a calling. But thanks to God, continued Chen, this church was finally built up step-by-step through his caring father's paint-brush and such a wonderful joint-ministry and support from five local churches. "Planting church requires a teamwork ministry and this mission is very difficult to be achieved alone!", said Chen.

Mrs Lee Yu-jen, the first baptized believer of Nan-pao Church on 17th July, also attended this thanks-giving service.Representing Nan-pao Church, Mrs Lee stood up to accept salutes and greetings from the members of the other congregations and choir groups.

In order to release the burden of the working parents in the community, now the ministry of Nan-pao Church mainlyfocuses to assist the home works study of some elementary school students or teach them lessons of good manners and characters.
