Taiwan Church News 3312 Edition August 17 - 23, 2015 Church Ministry Bakery Class Held At Church For New Immigrant WomenReported by Simon Lin In a leisurely afternoon on August 16, sweet smiles showed on the face of many new immigrant women, when thebakery fragrance flew out from the kitchen oven of Chong-ker Church at Taichung City. This was a bakery course making croissants and French bread, and every participating woman holding sheets of recipe attentively in each step. Mr Chen Rong-chang, president of Taichung Industrial Economics Foundation, who was also a member of Chong-ker church, wished this bakery class held could both pass the good news to these new immigrant women and increase their capability to find a job. Not long ago, many new immigrant women were attracted to stay at a Christian assembly house, due to a same bakery class held in Huei-lai Li not far away. An immigrant woman, who came from China and married in Taiwan over 10 years, gave her appreciation to thebakery class held in Chong-ker church for being able to shake up her former bakery skill again. What is more remarkable, because of this bakery class, this is her first time ever to step into the church! Translated by Peter Wolfe |
