Sign Language Church Supported By So-shan Presbytery Is Launched At Tainan

Reported by Chen Yi-fan

In the afternoon of December 26, the first sign language church is launched at Tainan. It is a PCT cross-Presbytery accomplishment after many coordination between Tainan Presbytery and So-shan Presbytery. On the opening and thanks-giving service, not only many pastors and co-workers of So-shan Presbytery attend the ceremony, Rev. Chen Chun-jia, Tainan Presbytery Moderator, and many students from PCT Tainan Student Center also bring their bless and praise in sign language to this historical moment.

Rev. Yeh Ya-nah, So-shan Presbytery Moderator, in her sermon entitled "March Toward A New Age", expresses her special thanks to Tainan Presbytery for generous acceptance to establish and support this sign language church within the parish of Tainan Presbytery. "Since the beginning of 2014, a lot of coordination and communication have been negotiated between two Presbyteries, the wonderful delivery is finally reached at the end of the year. Just like the departure of Abraham from his comfortable father land, there is always difficulty and challenge on the way to the wonderful promise, the bless of God is never leaving us if e stick to the obedience and the faith! ", says Rev. Yeh.

Mentioning about the process of building this church, Rev. LôPei-bûn, pastor of Tainan Sign Language Church, appreciates the great contribution offered by Rev. Chuang Inn-ren at Evangelical Committee of So-shan Presbytery. Lô points out, due to the special demands and characters of sign language church, suitable pastors are hard to find. So, when the deaf brother and sisters learn this sign language church is ready to launch at Tainan from 2015, everyone is so happy. Now, Evangelist Tân Ka-ka, whose father is Rev. Tân Poh-sêng, cooperated with Rev. Lo as her co-workers. As Rev. Tân Poh-sêng is the first pastor to serve for the disabled within PCT, Rev. Lôreminds the audience that her joint work with Tân Ka-ka reveals God's wonderful humor to the deaf brothers and sisters - because the combination of their surnames "Tân-Lô" in Taiwanese means the sounding drum!
