GOOD119 Church Share Foods With The Poor And Accommodate The Homeless

Reported by Chiu Kuo-rong

Before the Christmas Eve of 2014 , when many people go shopping to celebrate this holiday, the Grace Home Church(or the GOOD119 Church as her official name) commemorate the birth of Jesus through sharing foods with the poor and accommodating the homeless.

In the afternoon on December 21, after a Christmas service is held in Tam-suei Grace Home Church, foods and patronized supplies were distributed to the homeless in an eager expectation as usual. People are very happy to receive these gifts.

Hou Hsien-ming, Director of Tam-sui Grace Home Church and an elder from Lien-ho Church of PCT Chi-sin Presbytery, expresses that though Jesus is a wonderful gift to us by the grace of God yet many poor people can not receive this good news. Because the poor and the homeless feel that the church looks so magnificently wealthy, but they look too miserably poor to go into the church. Elder Hou says anyone, whoever comes into the church, is deemed as precious stone and lost sheep by God in Christ. There is no discrimination against the rich or the poor inside the house of God, and such good news rings specially warm to the homeless who never comes into church.

At present,Tam-sui Grace Home Church offer two meals a day at the time of lunch and supper, seven days a week without break. Before every meal, a sermon is preached to the homeless. In other words, there are 14 services in a week time for evangelical ministry. Therefore, Elder Hou encourages brothers and sisters, especially the retired people, could come to engage with this evangelical ministry as the harvest field is so large without sufficient workers.

"Now there are about 200 families receiving the charities from our church. And every family do come to church and attend the sermon. Charities and meals are only the means, the more important thing is make them to know the truth and know Jesus. This is the only purpose we are here!", said Elder Hou.
