PCT Raises Fund For Tsunami Victims After Krakatau Volcano Eruption

Reported by Lin Yi-yin

In the evening on the 22nd December 2018, after an unexpected eruption of Krakatau volcano located amid the Sunda Strait separating the islands of Java and Sumatra of Indonesia, a catastrophic tsunami caused by an apparent undersea landslide results into a toll over 426 deaths, 7,200 people more injured and 40,000 people homeless at least.

Rev Lin Wei-lien, secretary of PCT Church and Society Committee, expresses that a charity fundraising within PCT churches for these tsunami victims at Indonesia is under process. In order to care and reach out to the victims and the homeless, PCT will cooperate with Indonesian local church, Gereja Toraja, and the ecumenical institute, ACT Alliance, Rev Lin says.

Brothers and sisters in Lord are very much welcomed to donate for these tsunami victims into the account of “PCT Mission Foundation” at Taiwan’s Postal Comapny, with an account number as 1956-6285, and specially note for “Indonesian Sunda Tsunami”.
