Taiwan Church News 3473 Edition September 17 – 23, 2018 Church Ministry Refurnished Church Wall Becomes A Shining Beacon In Community Reported by Chen Yi-fan After a brand new re-painting with a series of biblical stories and verses on the 176 meters long circuitous wall of Hu-Tou Presbyterian Church of Tainan Presbytery since early September, this far-fetched village where the church located starts to attract people from around Taiwan and becomes a shining beacon in the community. Seeing so many tourists flooded into popular sites of those so-called “Crystal Church” or “High-Heel Church” every week, yet quite reluctant to visit those peaceful small towns with beautiful scenes, Rev Lee Kao-ming of Hu-Tou Church decided to refurnish his church’s obsolete wall with a series of biblical stories from October 2017. Painting in the realistic style with some cartoonist flavor, these refurnished biblical stories includes the Noah’s Arc, Jesus Calms the Storm, Daniel in the pit, Jesus invites doubting Thomas to inspect his wounds, Jesus says greetings to Mary Magdalene and the other Mary after his resurrection and etc. Rev Lee expresses his great welcome for local churches or any charity group to take a tourist visit of the re-furnished church wall of Hu-Tou church. Such short-day travel will not only be an amazing encouragement to local church, but also a big boost for the benefits of far-fetched community around Taiwan, Rev Lee remarks.
