Joint Ministry Of Good Friend Mission And Local Church Gives Great Gifts To Juvenile Youth

Reported by Lin Yi-yin

Since 2011 the joint ministry of Ta-Chiao Presbyterian Church of Taipei Presbytery and Good Friend Mission(GFM), a Christian charity institute focusing on juvenile youth ministry, has offered free meals and curriculum tutoring to hundreds of children, whose parents are busy doing business in night market around the cross section of Chong-Ching North Road and Ming-Chuang West Road at Taipei City.

Seeing so many college youth, who have been supported by the joint ministry, now willing to come back and serve their younger brothers and sisters in this church ministry, Rev Yeh Jung-sheng of Ta-Chiao Church expresses that he is very much touched to see the growth and attitude change of these community children, especially he give his thanksgiving to those resilient and hard-working co-workers from Good Friend Mission.

Mr Chi Hong-chen, director of GFM, remarks that the goal of GFM is to build up self-confidence of those juvenile youth in marginalized families through supplying free meals and kinds of curriculum tutoring. Currently, through a joint ministry with local church, GFM has three major youth sites in Taipei City, according to Mr Chi, adding that the communities where the youth sites located are all showing their warm and hospital welcome toward such a joint ministry of GFM and local churches.
