The PCT hosted 2010 CWM East Asia Region Roundtable Meeting
The 2010 CWM (Council of World Mission) East Asia Region Roundtable meeting was held in the Presbyterian Bible College in Hsin-chu on April 27th -30th. Other than the delegates from the PCT, there were also delegates from the Presbyterian Churches in Malaysia, Singapore, Korea (PCK), Hong-kong, and Myanmar.
The Rev. Hsien-Chang Lai, the new moderator of the PCT, brought greetings on behalf of the PCT, and preached at the opening worship. On April 27th and 28th, the delegates traveled to Cha-san tribe in Mt. Ali, one of the most seriously damaged areas of Typhoon Morakot last August. The local pastors reported on the damages and the rescue and restoration efforts the PCT congregations were engaging in the community, and how the church took lead in the agricultural refarming projects. It was a moving and humbling trip for all delegates.
The delegates also shared their mission activities and experiences in each of their churches. The closing worship was led by the Rev. Andrew T. C. Chang, General Secretary of the PCT.
