Presbyterian Church in Taiwan (PCT) is now accepting applications for the 2018 Training in Mission (TIM) Programme of the Council for World Mission (CWM). When? Training in Mission will be held 1st May to 30th November 2018. The deadline of submission of applications to CWM is 15th November 2017. Who is eligible to apply? Young adults -- aged 18 to 30 years old, single and not yet ordained; should be an active member of a CWM member church, as well as committed to serve the church upon return. Language: be proficient in English, as this is the main language of communication What is TIM? The Training in Mission Programme promotes leadership and service to the church and God’s mission, by providing opportunity for a group of young adults to participate in seven (7) months of mission learning in theory and in practice through classes, exposure visits, projects and hands-on work in various contexts. The Training in Mission aims to provide training for life. It is intended to be a stage in Christian formation which helps each participant in a life–long involvement with the mission of the church. It also aims to offer training which provides wider vision; deepened commitment; and a strengthened sense of fellowship and partnership with other fellow Christians around the world, particularly through CWM member-churches. Application process: Complete CWM application form. On a separate sheet, please write an essay on your understanding on the topic: Mission in the context of Empire. This should not exceed more than 2,000 words. Send your essay as an attachment to your completed application form. All applications must be endorsed by the General Secretary of the sending church, following internal process. However, the final selection will be done by CWM global office on the basis of your essay, taking in consideration balance in gender and regional representation in the Programme.
