Greetings from JCCJ Chairman

台灣基督長老教會總會
總幹事 張德謙 牧師

Thank you for your deep concern about the great earthquake and tsunami. We appreciate your prayers and monetary gift which we received yesterday. There are twelve local churches belonging to JCCJ in the attacked area. We thank the Lord that most of these churches were not damaged severely. But we find recently that two church buildings need big repairing.

Eight of our denominational committee members, including myself, have visited these churches one after another to encourage them with prayer and materials. We also saw many churches which lost buildings and the lives of some members. Now we have the confidence that we must help other churches as well as many people who are living in the affected cities and towns.

Fortunately we have one mission center in the area.
The building was damaged a little bit, but we have repaired it.
A few volunteers are staying there to help churches and people in need.
Your gift shall be used not only for us but also for other churches in the area.

Though this is really a tragedy, this is also God's challenge to us. How earnestly can we pray for the churches and people?
How sincerely can we love people and serve them as the body of Christ?

We thank God that Rev Chan visited the JCCJ Annual Conference and gave us warm words of compassion and encouragement. I am looking forward to seeing you all at the 56th General Assembly next week.

Please give our best regards to the wonderful people belonging to PCT. Thank you again.

Rev. Yoshimi Kamano 鎌野 善三
Chairman of the Committee JCCJ
